Human rights and IT
training for Religious Imams and preachers in Erbil city
Under supervision of Ministry of Awqaf, and Coordination with Diakonia organization, WEO started the project of Human rights and IT training for religious Imams in Erbil city. the training was attended by 20
Imams and took place in the hall of Ministry of Awqaf from 03 \ 06 \ 2008 to 05 \ 06\ 2008. in fact, this training is one of the series of trainings planned to be held by WEO for the religious imams licensed by Ministry of Awqaf and religious affairsw.
The main topics forming the core of the discussions are:
1.Human Rights in the Light of Islam and International Conventions such the Global Declaration of Human Rights.
2. the relationship between husband and wife is full of affection, tolerance and delicacy rather than violence and severity.
3. the role of the Imams in law enforcement and reducing violence.
4. The internet course is primarily about how to open an email since the majority of the imams did not have their own personal emails and how to search for topics on the internet. Moreover, the imams were given
some basics of Microsoft Windows and Word, so that they will be able to make use of them during their search on the internet.
