Leadership Skills Project
Women Empowerment Organization in cooperation with (NDI) held six workshops about (Strengthening Leadership Capabilities of Women in the Kurdish Community) for women working in Kurdistan government ministries and women NGOs. Each workshop took three days and
attended by (35) women of these formal places. The workshops were also marked by a high presence of government officials at different levels including the ministerial level in addition to the presence of a vast number of means of media. The ministries where the workshops were held are the following:
- ministry of Justice
- ministry of Culture
- ministry of Health
- ministry of labor and Social Affairs
Two workshops were also held for women NGOs in Erbil city as well as Koya District. The activities started in July, 1st 2007 and ended in Sep, 15th 2007. The total beneficiaries of these workshops was 210, all of them were women.
The objectives of the project:
1. Strengthening the capabilities and leadership skills of the women and youths working in the governmental and non-governmental institutions and unions located in Erbil province.
2. Building the capacities of women and youths in the Kurdish community so as to possess leadership skills and take part in the activities at the societal and national levels.
